Q- Describe what you do at Easterbrook
As events manager, it’s my responsibility to ensure the planning and communication of all the events here at Easterbrook, and my experience of organising hundreds of weddings, conferences, corporate dinners and more enables me to guide and advise each client on an individual basis.
Q- What is the most enjoyable thing about working at Easterbrook?
The variety. No two days are ever the same as we could have a wedding on one day and the following day a charity dinner or conference. This day to day diversity keep us all on our toes!
Q- Who is the most interesting person you have met at work
I have met may interesting people in my time here at Easterbrook. Many of the Royal family and political dignitaries, but the people I find most interesting aren’t always the most famous ones. People who are experts in their field and have had some life experiences that I can’t even imagine fascinate me. The most interesting person was Martin Bell, the war reporter for the BBC. He came to Easterbrook to give a lecture on his experiences in the war zones he had visited and the sights he saw. He is a very interesting man who gave his all for his job, regardless of the danger. Just inspiring!
Q- Tell us what your favourite activity is at work and why
The planning stage of events is definitely my most enjoyable activity. Building client specific events allows me to input my creative experience. I love discovering something that will make a difference to the event which helps our clients and guests create a lifetime memory.
Q- What motivates you?
Delivering successful events. Working alongside our clients through the stages of planning to the delivery and sharing with them in their special day. A secondary to this enjoyment of course is sharing the great feedback we receive with the rest of the team which helps to motivate them too.
Q- What is your ambition for Easterbrook?
To keep the business evolving, adding new products to our portfolio and expanding our increasing client base. A particular ambition of mine would be to see more music based events or prestigious product launches take place here.
Q- Describe a personal achievement.
Buying my first house this year has been my biggest achievement. I had the pleasure of decorating it from top to bottom myself and seeing the end results has been a big boost for me.
Q- What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I love spending my spare time with my animals. I have a horse, two Shetland ponies (not as cute as they look!!) and my Rottweiler Thai (who is a as cute as she looks) Just working outside with them gives me some downtime and plenty of exercise.
