Q-Describe what you do at Easterbrook

As sales and marketing manager, I spend my time creating and managing sales campaigns and special offers, marketing the extensive opportunities available at Easterbrook and promoting our own events to existing and new clients.

Q-What is the most enjoyable thing about working at Easterbrook?

Marketing such a fantastic product means that no two days are the same and we also have a diverse team who bring their own unique valuable qualities. Personally, being given autonomy and lots of encouragement also makes my job enjoyable.

Q-Who is the most interesting person you have met at work

I attended a web based innovations event in Glasgow recently and had the great pleasure of meeting the entrepeneur and investor, Shaf Rasul. He trained to be a lawyer but was so bored after two hours in a legal firm he quit and invested all the money he had into a small business. He is now worth an estimated £85 million and his philosophy of taking the right opportunities and importance of being passionate about what you do rather than simply earning a living was refreshing.

Q-Tell us what your favourite activity is at work and why

I love developing the ‘look and feel’ of Easterbrook through sales collateral, the website and new marketing ideas which I enjoy bringing to fruition.  Any activity which allows me to vent my creative side is always a favourite.

Q-What motivates you?

Success! Seeing the fruits of a successful campaign or activity transpire into events in the diary.

Q-What is your ambition for Easterbrook

To become known as a truly fantastic Wedding venue – not just within Dumfries and Galloway but all over the UK. With such a stunning Church onsite – I think that’s achievable! A personal goal for my department would be to grow the volume and range of activities and also personnel.

Q-Describe a personal achievement.

Becoming part of the management team here at Easterbrook was a great opportunity and to secure such an exciting role within my home region is definately an achievement.

Q-What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Having spent over 4 years living in Edinburgh, I like to return for the shopping and nightlife from time to time but admittedly I’m also just as happy out walking in the countryside with my other half and our nutty Jack Russell. The balance between city and rural suits me perfectly.
